Helen Shanahan & Band 'The Aeroplane' Single Launch

Award winning folk singer-songwriter Helen Shanahan is bringing her full band to Lyric's Underground on October 6, to celebrate their new single The Aeroplane, written by the legendary Tim Minchin. Helen had the pleasure to work alongside Tim Minchin for his Perth International Arts Festival show at Kings Park in 2021 and fell in love with his melodic and clever writing. With Tim’s blessing, Helen hit Villa studio in 2024 to record her own version of his song (featured in the TV show Upright) highlighting the infamous ‘Shanaband’: Matt Allen, Josh Dyson, Joe Southwell, Ethan Darnell and Steve Hensby. Produced by Josh Dyson and mastered by Brodie Stewart, the single pays homage to the abundance of talent in Western Australia. Helen and her band will perform the single, alongside tracks from her previous albums ‘Driftwood’, ‘Finding Gold, ‘Every Little Sting’ and ‘Canvas’.
